Sa signature : une prise de vue directe, en premier plan, des clichés qui racontent une histoire et véhiculent de l’énergie pure.Le 18 octobre 2019 marque le commencement d’une révolution sociale au Chili, à laquelle Gary Go s’est identifié.\n« Je n’avais jamais photographié de manifestations, alors que j’avais toujours eu envie de le faire. C’est la pudeur qui m’avait freiné. Je regardais ces phénomènes de loin plutôt que d’y participer activement. Mais comment aurais-je pu manquer l’occasion de témoigner de ce moment historique si important ? C’était pour moi un défi photographique, qui m’impliquait personnellement, et un soutien face aux revendications citoyennes. »\nAutant dans les salles de concerts que dans les rues de Santiago, Gary Go se qualifie de photographe « actif ». L’artiste a choisi d’utiliser un unique objectif de 35 mm, pour capter des instantanés, sur le vif.\n« Pour photographier des manifestations citoyennes, il faut aller au front, se rapprocher des manifestants et ressentir l’énergie qu’ils dégagent. Dans la rue, j’ai remarqué la grande diversité des personnes présentes, le soin qu’elles avaient apporté à chaque détail de leurs tenues. Le choix, très inventif, de vêtements qu’elles ont souvent fabriqués elles-mêmes, est un signe fort d’expression personnelle. Il y a toutefois un dénominateur commun : la capuche.
